Participants work together to create a better future, learning about climate but also teamwork. The game version sees teams negotiating to achieve their (competing) objectives. This team-building exercise will not be soon forgotten.
Align all team members to your organization's values and sustainability themes before embarking on your change management.
Climate change is not complicated. We are accumulating too many greenhouse gases in the atmosphere because we are emitting them faster than nature can remove them, which is warming the planet. Getting on the same page is where change can begin.
Help your teams understand what sustainability is, how it relates to your business and why they need to care deeply about it.
Participants create a new climate future together, by exploring, questioning, asking, defending, and building on theirs and others' ideas. This models the behaviour we will need to solve our global crises.
It is one thing to talk the talk. You want to walk the talk. Participants explore ideas for how they and their organization could do more and leave with renewed commitment.
Attract and retain employees, customers. volunteers... Whoever your stakeholders are, they want to be associated with an organization that 'gets it'. Show your commitment by educating and engaging your stakeholders.
Whether in workshops or the game, we ask participants to mentally simulate the impact of their choices before we 'reveal' the impact. We discuss why an action had the impact it did, or what would need to change to alter the outcome.
There is a role for everyone in transforming our civilization. We will need all voices, all heads, and all hearts. That's why one of our guidelines in small group discussions (or breakout rooms) is that everyone participates.
Every one.
“I can’t say enough good things about Laura and her facilitation of our EN-Roads Simulation! She talked me into launching the Simulation on ZOOM, one of the first ever done. It was so much fun and a powerful learning tool. Laura managed the session with razor sharp precision. Co-facilitators were given Guides, pre-briefings and “walk through” on the model. On the day of the simulation participants, all full-time business influencers, played along by dressing up in their roles and acting accordingly. We gained many insights on the climate policies and actions it will take to stay to 1.5 degrees of warming. Laura Lindberg can translate the complexity of climate policy change to a level most people can understand. She is a credible expert that does not speak over your head. I would highly recommend Laura’s workshops and simulations. We are going to need “all hands on deck” to stay to 1.5 degrees warming. Laura and her workshops will help us get there.”

Laura Lindberg Sustainability Advisors created for our company an extremely thoughtful and effective facilitation. The event was very meaningful for me, and really helped all of us to understand a lot more about the climate issue and the real power we have to make substantial change in the world we live.
Beyond effectively learning a lot about climate change and sustainability, the event was a strong, well thought - and yet also entertaining - team building exercise. The event created space for every staff member to actively collaborate with each other, taking turns on taking on both leadership roles and facilitator roles. It was safe space to discuss climate, to collectively build solutions and also to build hope. It was a chance for everyone to get to know each other's personality, to safely step a little out of our comfort zones and to interact in a concrete, goal-oriented way in the common shaping of a shared approach. The event provided me with a great inspiration for action, both on a personal and on a company level. As a company, moving forward we will definitely continue exploring ways to affect good change for the common good of our planet and of all the creatures who live on it. Highly recommended event for everyone!

The En-ROADS Climate Workshop was a very worthwhile learning experience for my Environmental Management class at the University of Toronto. The format is interactive and provided plenty of opportunities from my class members to actively participate. I appreciated that the simulation model used was science-based, providing real-world insights into the effects of the different mitigation strategies that can be utilized to limit global warming. The workshop was inspiring also, demonstrating that positive actions will make a difference. Laura did a wonderful job in planning and delivering the workshop. She is very knowledgeable, professional, and committed to furthering understanding and awareness of climate change and working towards solutions.

“Laura is an excellent facilitator! She leads with contagious enthusiasm and detailed knowledge, and all of our participants (who are studying liberal arts and not science!) left her workshop feeling empowered, encouraged, and engaged. With Laura's guidance, we used the En-Roads simulator to find solutions to reduce global warming, and while the task is daunting, we learned that we do indeed have the tools to curb this crisis if we work together. This hope is invaluable!!! Laura also introduced the students to "multi-solving" and this was one of their favourite takeaways - to see that as we solve climate problems, we simultaneously solve health problems, and this is extremely motivating. If you can do a workshop with Laura, I highly recommend it!”

"Laura's workshops on the En-ROADS tool are both engaging and highly educational. Laura delivered the climate workshop for a group of educators and also delivered the full simulation game over two classes for students. She fully commits to making the simulation feel like a real UN summit. She is very professional and arrives well prepared with no t's left uncrossed. Solving the climate crisis is complex and the ways to get there are numerous. Laura was excellent at driving this point home. Participants left the workshop with a better understanding of the enormous challenges ahead of us, but also with a hopefulness that it can indeed be done."

"Take Laura's Sustainability Training. The MIT En-Roads Climate Change Solutions Simulator is a state of the art modelling tool that demonstrates how policy changes in different industries influence global temperatures long term. Test your hypotheses for climate beneficial solutions. Personally, I was pleased to see how effective Green Infrastructure and Sustainable Agriculture can be to lower Greenhouse Gas Emissions, and in turn global temperatures. If you are a corporate group, non-profit, think tank, or group of active citizens, Laura will guide you through what it will take across sectors to lower global temperatures to sustainable, liveable levels. Are #climatechange #greenhousegases #sustainability #sdgs on your list of priorities? These workshops are for you. It's time we all learn what it takes to fight climate change and understand the systemic changes required to ensure our world remains inhabitable. Laura's facilitation encourages curiosity, provides a supportive learning environment, and leads all participants to reflect on our climate challenges through a solution-oriented lens. Thank you Laura for coming to our Fundamentals of Environmental Management class at the University of Toronto this semester, I look forward to empowering each other along our sustainability journey."

"I met Laura at St. Michaels at the University of Toronto in the 2020 class for social responsibility and sustainability program, where during our curriculum she introduced and led the En-Roads simulation game. The tool has many different moving parts and Laura helped the class understand how the tool works and how the actions and objectives from one stakeholder impacted the objectives of another stakeholder, and then she led and supported the discussions that followed.
I found the simulation a great interactive tool that helps all stakeholders come together to develop ideas to solve the climate crises while seeing immediate feedback and results of many different actions across all stakeholders. Great way to break the ice and introduce the complexity of generating responses to the climate issues!"
Steven Gregory, Eldor Group
"Laura's skillful facilitation of the En ROADS simulation really helped me to understand the complexity of climate change, and that there is no ONE solution -- that our current state requires EVERYONE to be pulling in the same direction - together.
Highly recommended!"

"The En-ROADS game woke me up to the breadth of the changes we need to make to get to 1.5°C *and* the fact that we CAN do it! The facilitation by Laura and the team really helped us connect the dots between action and impact. I left feeling energised, determined and equipped with a bigger picture view. All learning should be this much fun!"
